
1- Chose a destination according to your child’s age and which is appropriate from health and safety perspectives (check my post on choosing your travel destination).
2- Chose activities that are suitable for the whole family so that everyone can enjoy (check my post on selecting suitable activities for kids).
3- Plan how you’re going to fulfill your child’s basic needs such as eating, sleeping, napping, diapers & toilet (check my post on a child’s basic needs).
4- Plan transportation needs carefully (check my post on transportation). If it takes too long to get to your destination or if requires several means of transportation, reconsider.
5- Prepare plenty of snacks that can be easily packed, do not occupy much space and will not deteriorate under travel conditions (check my post about the importance of snacks).
6- Make sure your kids stay healthy and prepare for dealing with all kinds of health issues (check my post on health concerns).
7- Be pragmatic and flexible (check my post on adapting to new situations). The way you deal with unexpected or new situations is more important than the happening itself.
8- Plan how you’re going to entertain your kids during boring hours (check my post on entertainment on the go). Bored children seek to wear off that feeling by engaging in exciting activities, often dangerous or disturbing.
9- Travel light and make a list of the essentials so that you don’t forget the must-take items (check my post on traveling essentials).
10- Don’t compromise comfort over small cost savings (check my post on little things matter). You may end up pilling up stress which usually leads to a spiral of wrong attitudes and decision-making.
